He, who does not seize opportunity today, will be unable to seize tomorrow's opportunity. - African Proverb
Yesterday, 6/2/2022, was a fulfilling day, as we spent most of it talking with our global partners and with some of those we serve, as we could not think of a better way to cement the momentous occasion.
It is hard to believe that it has already been two years since the inception of Footprints in Africa, yet I could not be more proud of all that we have managed to accomplish in such a short time and during a pandemic, I should add.
Going the Distance
Honestly, I can not fully grasp the words to articulate the gratitude I feel, knowing that my life purpose (our mission and vision) have been the conduit for literally changing the lives of so many others. Our impact, without a doubt, is evident, but more importantly, it is sustainable, which truly makes my heart smile. As always, thanks for rocking with us along this journey.
To commemorate this milestone, I felt it fitting to finally name our online store as it is an intricate part of who we are as an organization. Moving forward, we proudly refer to our online store as Alkebulan: Footprints in Africa's Cultural Emporium. The word Alkebulan (al-ke-bu-lan) is the original word for Africa. *Note, nothing else about our store has changed. Our core initiative of preserving the skilled craftsmanship of Africa remains the same. We still check all the boxes of Authentic African Items, Skilled Craftsmanship, Ethically Made, and Fair-Trade.

Also, we're finally rolling out our Legacy Society, as I've been fine-tuning the program for some time now. The Legacy Society will consist of individuals who believe in our mission and vision and share in the love of exalting our Culture, Legacy, and Beyond! The society makes way for members to create their lasting charitable legacy with a planned gift to Footprints in Africa or any fund within our organization via their Last Will & Testament, also known as a will.
For the Culture, Legacy, and Beyond
Lastly, our newsletter has a new name, fresh look, and bi-monthly release cycle that will hit your inbox on Sunday, 6/5/2022.
Again, thank you for all the love and support you've shown us these two years.
We’re committed to 𝑮𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆!
Prayerfully, you'll continue to support us along the way.
