The Wembebe Ceremonial Masks from Ghana are made by local artisans using traditional methods passed down for countless, as no two are exactly alike. Historically speaking, they are worn during initiation ceremonies for the Wembebe secret society of Tanganyika, believed to protect and give spiritual guidance.
